Styling Mini Skirt

EN   Happy Friday everyone! Another week passed by, the time goes way too fast, but I can't complain about the approaching weekend. I guess none of you do :))

But before diving into well deserved weekend, let's talk about today's outfit. I'm still going through my closet for searching the pieces I haven't worn for a long time and I'm trying to incorporate them with my newer clothes. In other words, I try to create new outfits with what I have in my closet. It's a good thing, because I force my creativity to train. On the other hand, gosh, sometimes it's not easy at all. Sometimes I lack of inspiration, sometimes I feel bored of everything I own, or sometimes I simply desire something new and fresh in my closet. Anyways, last weekend this grey flowy mini skirt caught my eye and I though why not to combine it with a chunky sweater and heeled boots? I think it's a great way to pair shorter skirt with loose top for a casual look and leaving the main focus on the skirt and legs, but without being too provocative. The balance, that's what we need to look for when pairing mini skirts. How do you pair your mini skirts?? Or maybe you don't even like them?? Let me know !!

LT   Sveiki sulaukę penktadienio! Kaip viesulas praūžė dar viena savaitė, tas laikas tikrai per greitai bėga, bet iš kitos pusės dėl jau ant nosies kabančio savaitgalio negaliu skųstis. Manau, kad nė viena iš jūsų juo nesiskundžia :))

Prieš neriant į užsitarnautą savaitgalį, pakalbėkime apie šios dienos derinuką. Aš vis dar peržiūrinėju savo spintą ieškodama seniai dėvėtų drabužių, kuriuos galėčiau suderinti su šiek tiek naujesniais drabužiais. Kitaip tariant, stengiusoi sukurti naujus derinukus iš to, ką turiu savo spintoje. Tai labai geras dalykas, nes skatina ir puikiai treniruoja kūrybiškumą. Iš kitos pusės, vargeli, kaip kartais būna sunku tai padaryti. Kartais trūksta įkvėpimo, kitais kartais visi turimi drabužiai atrodo atsibodę arba tiesiog taip norisi kažko naujo ir šviežio savo spintoje. Vienaip ar kitaip, aš manau, kad yra sveika pertvarkyti savo spintą ir jei matau, kad kažko tikrai nebenešiosiu, tuomet galima atiduoti/parduoti ir pan iiiiiir poto....pakeisti kažkuo nauju (hihihihi :)). Taigi praėjusį savaitgalį už mano akies užkliuvo šis pilkas mini plevesuojantis sijonas. Pamaniau, kodėl gi jo nesuderinus su laisvesniu megztiniu ir grubesniais aukštakulniais. Mano nuomone, laisvesnė, didesnė viršutinė dalis yra puikus būdas dėvėti trumpesnį sijoną, norint išgauti kasdieninį derinuką ir paliekant dėmesio centre patį sijoną bei kelnes, tačiau neatrodant per daug vulgariai. Balansas - štai ko reikia siekti, derinant trumpus sijonus. O kaip jūs mėgstate dėvėti mini sijonus??? O gal iš vis jų nemėgstate? Man labai įdomu!!
O dabar daugiau man nieko nebelieka, kaip jums palinkėti gražaus savaitgalio ir susimatom pirmadienį!!!

Mini salmon, pea and mint tartines

EN   Today I have a pea party on the blog. Kind of :) I've been wanting to make these mini salmon, pea and mint tartines since early December, but only last week I managed to do that. Preparation doesn't require any efforts and the taste is very nice. The mint takes these tartines to a higher and more sophisticated level, unless you don't like mint, so I guess it won't be anything sophisticated for you :)) but you can totally cut it out, if you prefer! I will be preparing these mini tartines again soon for one of our soirée with friends. I wanted to check the recipe before serving it, you know just in case :))

LT   Sveiki atvykę į žirnelių puotą. Beveik :) Šiuos mini lašišos, žirnelių ir mėtų sumuštinukus norėjau pagaminti nuo ankstyvo gruodžio mėnesio, bet tik praėjusią savaitę įstengiau tai pagaliau padaryti. Paruošimas visai nereikalaujantis didelių pastangų, o skonis puikus. Mėta sustiprina visą receptą ir suteikia kitokio, šiek tiek neįprasto ir rafinuotesnio skonio. Na, jei nemėgstate mėtų, tai nieko rafinuoto čia nepajusite, tokiu atveju, galite tiesiog jų nedėti. Šį receptą vėl gaminsiu greitai ateinančiam draugų pasibuvimui. Norėjau pirmiausia išbandyti pati prieš tiekiant draugams, žinote, dėl visa ko, kad išvengti susimovimo :))

MINI SALMON, PEA AND MINT TARTINES (serves 10) from magazine Olive

• multigrain bread or rye bread (as you prefer), slightly toasted
• 200 g frozen peas, defrosted in a bowl of hot water, but not cooked
• 75 g half-fat crème fraiche
• 1 tbsp mint sauce
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• 100g smoked salmon, snipped into strips
• 1 punnet salad cress
• pinch of salt
• freshly ground black pepper

Slice each toasted slice of bread into 4 fingers, then cut in half to make 32 in total. Arrange over boards or platters for serving. Or you can use multigrain ciabatta (like I did) cut in small pieces, depending how many people will be served.

Drain the peas well, then tip into a bowl with the crème fraiche, mint sauce, lemon juice, plenty of freshly ground black pepper and a pinch of salt. Use a potato masher or fork, or blender to mash everything to a rough crush. Taste it and season more (salt, pepper or lemon juice) if needed.

To serve, spread a little of the crushed pea over each bread, top with a ruffle of salmon and snip over the cress.

Remarks: 200g of frozen peas make a great quantity. If you are planning to serve it for 2 people (like I did) I highly recommend you to divide this in half, because it's just way too much. I prepared a full portion of this mash and we had leftovers for a second day. Plus, if you can't find mint sauce, no worries, you can simply substitute it with fresh mint (blended).

MINI LAŠISOS, ŽIRNELIŲ IR MĖTŲ UŽTEPĖLĖ (10 porcijų) iš žurnalo Olive

• daugiagrūdės duonos ar ruginės duonos (priklausomai, kurią mėgstate), lengvai paskrudinta
• 200g žalių šaldytų žirnelių, atitirpintų karštame vandenyje
• 75 g vidutinio riebumo grietinės
• 1 šaukštas mėtų padažo
• 1 šaukštas citrinos sulčių
• 100 g rūkytos lašišos, supjaustytų juostelėmis
• 1 dėžutė pipirnės salotų
• žiupsnis druskos
• šviežiai maltų juodųjų pipirų

Supjaustykite kiekvieną lengvai skrudintos duonos riekę į keturias dalis, po to kiekvieną dalį dar per pusę, kad gautųsi 32 gabaliukai, sudėkite ant lėkštės ar lentutės patiekimui arba galite naudoti daugiagrūdę ciabatta (kaip kad aš dariau), supjaustytą riekelėmis, priklausomai, kokiam žmonių skaičiui tieksite. 

Gerai nusausinkite žirnelius, sudėkite į dubenį kartu su grietine, mėtų padažu, citrinos sultimis, daug šviežiai maltais pipirais bei žiupsniu druskos. Šakute, bulvių grūstuvu ar tiesiog blenderiu grubiai sutrinkite masę, kad šiek tiek liktų žirnelių gabaliukų. Paragaukite, ar netrūksta prieskonių, jei taip, įberkite dar pipirų, ar citrinos sulčių, pagal skonį.

Ant kiekvienos duonos riekutės užtepkite žirnelių masės, uždėkite juostelę lašišos ir paberkite pirpinės salotų lapelių.

Pastebėjimai: 200g šaldytų žirnelių yra didelis kiekis, todėl jei planuojate gaminti šiuos sumuštinukus dviems žmonėms, tuomet tikrai patariu viską mažinti perpus, nes patikėkit manim, bus per daug. Aš gaminau mums dviems pilną porciją, bet buvo tikrai per daug ir dar liko geras kiekis šios trintos masės sekančiai dienai. Jei nerandate pirkti mėtų padažo, ne bėda, jį galite pakeisti tiesiog šviežių mėtų lapeliais (sutrintais).

White and Black

EN   Isn't it beautiful outside when it's white like this?? In my opinion, it's magical, plus perfect background and contrast for black (almost) outfit. I have some summery pieces that I want to incorporate into my more winter appropriate outfits, for example this striped white and black t-shirt dress. It's perfect light weighted dress during summer season, but it can also be wearable during winter if properly styled. I decided to go for a simple look and leave this dress as a main object of my outfit. Warm black tights, warm black sweater on top, knee high boots, and here you have a winter appropriate outfit with a little twist. How would you style your t-shirt dress during cold season?? I would like to know it!!!!

LT   Tik pažiūrėkit, kaip gražu lauke, kai taip balta, ar ne?? Man toks vaizdas tiesiog magiškas, be to dar ir naudingas kaip puikus nuotraukų fonas ir kontrastas mano juodam (beveik) derinukui. Turiu keletą tokių vasarinių drabužių, kuriuos labai noriu inkorporuoti į žiemai tinkamus derinukus. Kaip kad ši dryžuota balta ir juoda marškinėlių tipo suknutė. Lengvutė ir puikiai tinkanti karštajam sezonui, tačiau gali būti naudinga ir žiemos sezonu, jei tinkamai suderinta. Aš nusprendžiau ją palikti kaip svarbiausią akcentą šiame derinyje, todėl pasirinkau šiltas juodas pėdkelnes, šiltą megztuką ant viršaus, ilgaaulius batus sulyg keliais, ir štai gavosi patogus, gražus ir žiemiškas derinukas su šiokiu tokiu vasarišku tvistu. O kaip jūs suderintumėte tokią marškinėlių tipo suknutę šaltuoju metu?? Pasidalinkit, man įdomu!!

Bits & Bobs (life lately)

EN   Hello hello!! I hope you all are doing fine!! We have snow in Belgium, which is awesome! So beautiful outside. Yesterday we went for a walk in the forest and it was magical. Sunny, white, calm, peaceful, no one around you, only the sleeping nature. I really appreciate moments like this. They make me happy, they calm me and as much as it sounds cheesy, they make me dream over and over again...which is a great thing. I like to dream, maybe sometimes I dream more than I should or at least I should do more for making these dreams come true. But well that's me, always need someone to kick my butt towards my own dreams :))

For today's post I decided to gather few bits and bobs that make me excited and happy. I am that kind of girl who is so capable of enjoying little things like these new very minimal earrings that my sister gave me for Christmas. They are made from the wood and colored in gold color, they are perfect when I wear a statement necklace, but I still want/need something in my ears. Thank you, sister, for know me so well!! :))

LT   Sveiki sveiki!!!! Tikiuosi laikotės puikiai!! Pagaliau ir Belgiją pasiekė sniegas, kas yra tiesiog nuostabu!! Lauke taip gražu gražu. Ta proga vakar išėjome pasivaikščioti po mišką. Buvo saulėta, balta, ramu, tyku, nė vieno prašalaičio aplink, tik tu pats ir mieganti gamta. Labai vertinu tokias akimirkas. Buvo taip gera minti niekieno nepramintais takais ir mėtyti savąsias pėdas baltame sniege. Tokios akimirkos man suteikia laimės, ramumo ir kad ir kaip banaliai skambės, verčia svajoti. Aš labai mėgstu svajoti, kartais daugiau nei turėčiau ir kartais turėčiau daugiau padirbėti, kad tos svajonės virstų realybe. Tokia jau esu, vis reikia spyrio iš šono, kad judėčiau savo svajonių link :))

Šiandienos įrašui sugalvojau surinkti visokius dalykėlius, kurie mane džiugina pastaruoju metu. Esu iš tų merginų, kurios sugeba pasidžiaugti mažais dalykėliais, kaip kad šiais mažučiukais auskarais, kuriuos sesė man padovanojo Kalėdų proga. Tai mediniai auskariukai, padengti aukso spalvos dažais, puikiai man tinkantys prie statement vėrinių, kai vis vien kažko norisi/reikia ausyse, bet kartu neperkraunančio. Tad dar kartelį ačiū sesei už tai, kad puikiai žino mano skonį!!:))

Archipelago Botanicals candle Black Orchid. During my stay in Lithuania I got quite few scented candles myself and as a gift from the Candelaria Home Fragrances boutique. I love burning candles and I love when they really have a scent that fills the whole room and it even stays for another day without burning. There is no evening without burning a candle in my home, like no evening, especially during winter.

I have a little (or maybe a bit bigger :)) perfume collection and I was searching for a tray to put nicely all my bottles. And I managed to find it just before Christmas in H&M home section, so obviously I got it. Now all my collection is nicely displayed, and every time I look at it, it makes me smile and use perfumes with a huge satisfaction.

This little dotted notebook is a place where I write all my blog related ideas. It's like my blog post ideas brainstorming book. The L'oreal lipstick aside is the lipstick I am currently trying to use up. I want to use up older lipsticks so that I could replace them with new ones :)) This nude by J.Lo is a beautiful nude color that I use for everyday bases. It doesn't stay well on the lips, but I really like the shade and how it looks on my lips.

Another gift, this time from my mother. Two handmade leather bracelets. They are my new favorite bracelets. Super beautiful and stylish, I've already wore them in my newest style post which is coming up on Friday. So don't forget to check it out!

Oups, another gift from Christmas again :)) This post is turning into 'What I got for Christmas post' :)))) but hey, I got such lovely and thoughtful gifts that make me very happy, so why not to share if it is something I really like. Just look at this beautiful glassware. I adore things like this and my sister knows it very well, so I was more than happy to receive it. When I came back home I filled it with Lithuanian candies that I have a weakness for. Oh yes, a big and serious weakness. I took plenty of candies to Belgium, because seriously Lithuanian sweets are so good!!! :))

We finally have gorgeous and chic champagne glasses. Now all we need to do is not to break them little by little :)) because they are so thin and sleek. We got them before Christmas with a discount which was really great. In case you wondered they are from Leonardo and called Puccini champagne glasses. For someone who loves some bubbles like me it is an amazing purchase!

I have two little winter flowers (I don't know what's their proper name, anyway I always call them winter flowers :)) Flowers make home more alive, I still need to get one big plant and maybe few succulents too. I used to laugh and roll my eyes on my sister when she was spending hours in flower shops, but here we go now, I start to enjoy it too :))) #everythingcomeswiththeage

Finally I have the comfiest pyjamas ever. OMG. This is something I want to get in and never get out. Seriously, it's so comfortable and soft, and I just love it. I want to spend all my day in this :)))) Hunkemoller you made my evenings so soft and cozy!!

These are my collected bits and bobs from lately. I think it's important to learn to appreciate little things, I think I always say this on my blog, but that's something I truly believe! Have a nice week!! 

KIKO Intensely Lavish Lipsticks

EN   Hello everyone! I am finally back after almost two weeks of absence. But I have to admit it was so good to disconnect from everything, from all social media, even my beloved Instagram, I almost didn't use the Internet and fully enjoyed my stay in Lithuania. On the other hand, it feels good to be back too now. I am looking forward to 2016, I hope it will be a good year. As every year I made new goals that keep me going forward and improving my personal and professional sides, but I like to keep it for myself, so I won't be sharing it here. I also find it very fun at the end of the year to cross the goals I achieved and see others that I didn't.

But now let's start new year with a beauty post. I wanted to write about these KIKO Intensely Lavish lipsticks like a month ago when I ordered them, but you know, sometimes I suck at my scheduling.. I saw these shades in one you tube channel and I instantly craved for them, and apparently it was a special discount weekend on the KIKO website, so I had  to get them. And I am happy I did it, because these lipsticks are amazing for the amazingly little price. Creamy texture, the pigmentation is really good, even too strong for me as I like lighter lips, and it stays on the lips really long time. Besides, look at this beautiful packaging. I mean I can't ask anything more. If you are hesitating to try KIKO lipstick, I highly suggest you go for it. Maybe you will like just like I do, who knows! Or if you have already tried them, I would love to hear your opinion!!!!

LT   Sveiki visi! Pagaliau sugrįžau čia po beveik dviejų savaičių tylos. Tačiau turiu pripažinti, kad buvo be protiškai gera atsijungti nuo visų socialinių tinklų, net nuo mano taip mylimo Instagram'o, beveik nenaudojau interneto ir pilnai, tikrai pilnai pasidžiaugiau savo atostogomis Lietuvoje. Nors iš kitos pusės, lygiai taip pat gera sugrįžti čia į savo blogą. Žvelgiu į 2016-uosius ir labai tikiuosi, kad tai bus geri metai. Kiekvienoje naujų metų pradžioje susikuriu naujus tikslus ir juos gražiai užsirašau savo knygutėje. Tai man padeda nepasimesti ir eiti savo asmeninio bei profesinio tobulėjimo linkme, tačiau šiuos tikslus pasilieku tik sau ir čia, deja, nesidalinu. Taip pat būna labai smagu metų pabaigoje sudėti pliusiukus prie įgyvendintų tikslų, na o tų kurių nepavyko, tiesiog jei dar tikrai artimi man, perkeliu į naujus metus, o jei jaučiu, kad visgi jie ne mano, tiesiog išbraukiu. Paprasta.

Na o šiandien pirmąjį naujų metų įrašą pradėsiu grožio tema. Iš tiesų, apie šiuos KIKO Intensely Lavish lūpdažius norėjau parašyti gal prieš mėnesį ar daugiau, kuomet juos užsisakiau, bet žinote, man kartais nelabai sekasi su planavimu. Užmačiau šiuos lūpdažius viename you tube kanale ir kaip mat užsigeidžiau, o dar apsilankius KIKO internetiniame puslapyje atradau specialą nuolaidą, tad nieko kito nebeliko kaip tik imti ir užsisakyti :)) Ir labai džiaugiuosi, kad taip padariau, nes tik pažiūrėkit, kokie gražūs šie lūpdažiai!! Kreminės tekstūros, labai pigmentuoti, man netgi gal šiek tiek per daug, nes mėgstu "lengvesnes" lūpas, taip pat laikosi kuo puikiausiai, o dar nepamirškime prieinamos kainos paminėti. Be to, negaliu atsidžiaugti šiuo gražiu įpakavimu. Jeigu dvejojate, ar bandyti, ar ne KIKO lūpdažius, tai patariu išmėginti, gal jums patiks taip, kaip man jie patiko, ką gali žinoti! O jeigu jau bandėte, būtų labai įdomu sužinoti jūsų nuomonę!!!!
